Welcome to my PhotoBlog

"The ultimate wisdom of the photographic image is to say:  "There is the surface.  Now think-or rather feel, intuit- what is beyond it, what the reality must be like if it looks this way."  Photographs which cannot themselves explain anything, are inexhaustible invitations to deduction, speculation and fantasy."

Ride & Roll

Sitting in the park enjoying a coffee and decided to snap a shot of my daughter's bicycle which was sitting nearby. And then, to add interest to an otherwise mundane photo, added some blur and saturation to the image.
Oh yea, I also adjusted the hue to bring out the orange.

I have two copies of Ride and Roll in my music library, one by Collin James and one by Sonny Terry.  I decided to go with a sample of the more traditional version by Terry.

Yes, Andreas, I had you in mind when I shot this one. Glad you liked it.

Sure I do. It's funny, for some time I used to ride the bike extensively. Then I had an accident where I escaped almost unharmed, but I decided that probably the next time I would not be so lucky, and that was the end of cycling for me. But I still like them and photograph them all the time :)
